“You do have the right to be an attorney, if you want to.” -Schmidt

21 Jump Street is a film that reboots the 1987 television series, where young officers are called to be undercover cops in high school. The film follows two characters, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum), as two undercover cops who were in opposite social crowds in high school, who become best friends during police academy training. As they are sent to 21 Jump Street for their undercover job as students in their old high school, they notice a drug cartel running inside the school itself. With time changing from when they were in high school, will their friendship  be able to survive along with their jobs as officers? Or will they lose themselves to the new status quo in high school? Honestly, it’s hard to tell with these two. This movie was actually the first Rated R movie I ever watched, and it still is one of my favorite comedies of all time. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are incredible in this movie in both funny and serious scenes. Even in intense scenes, they know how to put in a hilarious joke without it losing its seriousness. For fans of the original television show from back in the day, there are some amazing and laughable scenes where actors from the original show come into the movie. After seeing this movie, I am hoping for more collaborations with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Thankfully, there is a sequel that also is just as successful as this first film.
